The album's producer, Gary Katz (Steely Dan, Joe Cocker and others) said: "Bob, maintaining and enhancing the unique quality of the music -- -- AND making a great record -- is a wonderful challenge, because the music is as honest and cool as it is." And a fan adds: "I felt like a wine taster when I was listening -- I was getting bits of 10cc, a soupcon of Little River Band, the slightest hint of The White Album. I am sure the more I hear the more will come to me but … I love it." All proceeds go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Doors Open at 7:00 PM
Gritty and incendiary, the "Folkadelic Psyche Rock" of Dick Garrison and the Business is best served live. The band's unique blend of psychedelic and folk-rock is hard to describe, but broken down the band is essentially a powerful four-piece rhythm section. Leaving neither genre slighted, they build their songs like folk rockers and jam out on them like psychedelic professionals. Melodically they haunt and soothe and lyrically they take care to balance softness with bluesy ruggedness. Consisting of the groove oriented bass styling of Matt Lobo, powerful and innovative drumming by Sam Carlson, the gruff voice and soaring guitar of Nick Harrison, and the band's keyboardist Emeric Viani floats between sparkling grand piano, smoky electric Rhodes, and searing Hammond organ, this modern take on a classic ensemble has got something for everyone. A mostly homegrown enterprise, the Business has been doing a bit of recording at FTC recently, and we're pleased to showcase their recently manufactured goods.

An old soul in a young body, Trevor infuses his songs with a deep sense of spirituality, as evidenced in the lead single "Unity," written and performed with his friend Matisyahu.
"I just wanna melt away in all Its grace, drift away to that sacred place where there's no more you and me no more they and we just unity."
Hall is proving to be one of the most thought-provoking, inspiring artists of his generation.

From landing an uncredited roll in '78 as the bass player in Otis Day's band in Animal House to touring the world with Eric Clapton in '06-'07, Robert Cray's good time, uptown, low-down blues guitar artistry has been at the forefront of the music entertainment industry for over 30 years. Known for his fiercely physical guitar playing, Cray never holds back on stage. It should come as no surprise when he bends and twists his face and body just as far as his strings. With his blues moves, it's as if he's just as surprised as the audience when ripping open classic blues riffs or when hitting a soulful vocal high. You can listen to all their studio albums, read all about their Grammy's, but with the Robert Cray band, the intensity can only truly be found at a live show. In ways that trump Derek Trucks' Klein performance in '07, you can truly count on seeing a guitar wizard at the Klein on the August date.

Hailing from the original reggae trenches of Jamaica, the Wailers have always been a source of musical positivity and excitement. Best known as Bob Marley's backing band, they are still the world's most authentic and recognizable roots reggae band of all time. Marley's lyrics have always been central to their sound, but the subtle instrumentation that surrounds a Wailers groove still cannot be replicated. Today, original member Aston "Familyman" Barrett and new lead singer Elan Atias lead the band. Bone-shattering bass, clean and classic drums, sharp guitar and smooth spiritual lyrics - it all remains intact. Going beyond preserving the legacy, today's Wailers ignite the Marley soul within us all. No other band can claim to do this because no other band can.

Hailed by UK's Melody Maker as "the most rock 'n roll rock 'n roll band in the world," The Black Crowes are coming to the Klein to show the Fairfield area how it's done. Their uncompromising, straight-ahead rock sound is as rare today as it was when they started in 1990, and no other band - not even their forefathers The Faces, The Rolling Stones or the Allman Brothers Band - can hold a candle to the blues power and rock excellence of a live Crowes show. Led by Chris and Rich Robinson, a brotherly duo heavily influenced by everything blues and rock 'n roll, Rolling Stone's album reviews have never dipped below three stars, recently saying about 2008's Warpaint, they still "Draw from the same well of American roots music that inspired all those Brits in the Sixties."
Known for putting on absolutely epic shows at the world's best theaters, including New York's Hammerstein Ballroom and San Fransisco's Fillmore Auditorium, a Black Crowes show at the Klein will surely enter and remain in the FTC history books for years to come.

After touring the country for months and being celebrated at every stop, we welcome back some of our closest friends - local artists and singer/songwriters Fuzz and Carrie San Giovanni, violinist Ben Dean and double bassist Brian Anderson (of St. Bernadette, Raison Hill and 930 Moon). With tight instrumentation, elaborate and beautiful lyrics and vocals and exploding with playful energy, the Thieves are like no other band in the world and we couldn’t be prouder to have them back.

Straight from the depths of the mystical music playground of New Orleans, comes the truly handcrafted American music of the subdudes. Usually without a drum set, they use their feet, hands, voices and tambourines to display a deep rhythmic knowledge that cannot be explained without witnessing. Drenched in thick blues and dripping with tight jazzy compositions, these funk masters ignore basic song structures and fill each tune with rich organic lyrics, traces of haunting gospel and easy but elaborate vocal harmonies.
FTC welcomes the subdudes back to StageOne for the sixth time, in the same way you gave your best friends a key to your summer home. It's because of passionate musicians like these, who value intimacy and tasteful instrumentation like no others, that StageOne even exists.

Featuring Glen Phillips, Sean Watkins, Luke Bulla, and Sebastian Steinberg Combining their skilled practice and experience in creating some of America's best alternative rock, bluegrass, country, classic rock and pop, the eight-membered band WPA is most easily referred to as a super-group. But instead of relying on the ice-cold industry expectations that come with that classification, these musicians rely on the anticipation of their own dreams. No strangers to your car stereo, WPA borrows talent from Nickel Creek, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Wilco, Elvis Costello, Fiction Family and the Jerry Douglas Band. They're just about to release their as yet unnamed debut independent album, and with sneaking shade of Caravan of Thieves' songwriting style, we know you'll be proud to watch their success skyrocket soon after sitting with them at StageOne.
